EMERGENCY CALL FROM A BLIND CHILD
EMERGENCY CALL FROM A BLIND CHILD
DESCRIPTION OF THE APEAL
TAHO volunteers to sponsor for a free dental treatment among the orphans and disabled children at various centers in Bukoba town. We normally conduct a regular dental outreach program of at least twice per year for any identified center in need. Through our experience, most of the children from various centers are suffering from dental anomalies and traumatic injuries that are beyond their cost to treat.
Because of our limited resources we are working in hand with Al Abbas (a.s) dental clinic in town to help the children from these centers who are in need of dental emergency care. Our vision is to conduct a regular mobile dental clinic for every month in each listed center in town. We sincerely understand the difficulties of which the children are striving through their daily life.
Generally, dental treatment is expensive and with the limited budget we cannot thrive to conquer the need for each center in need of our help. Therefore, we are in critical need to work with other donors who will volunteer for dental filling materials, dental mobile chairs and other associated instruments.
Below is an example of the case we have received from one of our volunteering centers- Mugeza disabled primary school. The 7 years old boy, living with blindness, sustained a dental traumatic injury after he hit a bump on his way. We received an emergency call from the school headmaster requesting for emergency treatment, because this child was oozing blood orally.
We rushed the child to AL-Abbas dental clinic for emergency care.
After thorough examination, the child was found with a fractured upper tooth with oozing blood from the site. The doctor suggested for a surgical toilet and removal of the affected deciduous tooth.
Afterward the child was covered with antibiotics and guardian care.
